Retreats, Conferences, Missions

How to Book an Event

  • The first decision to make when requesting my presence at a location to talk about the Holy Face Devotion, is to decide what you are looking for in regard to the presentation. Should it be a Retreat, a Conference, or a Mission?

  • Retreats are more contemplative. - sometimes with silence. It is best to be held at a retreat house. A retreat can be from two days to a week. Shorter retreats are fitting for laymen and longer retreats for religious.

  • Conferences are usually held at parish churches, parish halls, or civic convention centers. They are more active and have no silence. There can be one or two talks about the history and practice of the Devotion to the Holy Face.

    • If choosing One Talk it would include half of the time on the history and the other half on how to practice the devotion practically.

    • If choosing Two Talks it would include the same subjects but at a more extensive level.

  • Missions are held at parishes lasting from three to six days. It is typical, but not mandatory, for the missionary to preach at the weekend Masses. For example, a six day mission would start on Sunday evening and continue every evening through Thursday.

    • The following are examples of topics for a six day mission:

    • Weekend Sermons: What is Communism? What is happening in our times? The first three Commandments.

    • Evening Mission Talks: How did St. John M. Vianney receive his First Communion? How do you make a Spiritual Communion? How do you make an Act of Perfect Contrition? How do you assist someone who is dying? Know the Devotion to the Holy Face.

    • Monday Evening: Reparation to the Holy Face of Jesus is Destined to Save Society.

    • Tuesday Evening: A Special Miracle in Rome, 1849.

    • Wednesday Evening: Communist Takedown

    • Thursday Evening: The Best Way to Cross Swords with Communism and its Disciples.

  • After you decide on the type of event, you will need to submit a request. Please include the following information:

    • What is your name and contact information (phone and email)?

    • How many days do you want?

    • What dates do you propose? (Please give options and ranges if possible.)

    • Does your pastor/superior approve of the event? What is his name?

    • What is the best airport to use? (Travel will be by plane or car depending on the location from Wichita or from other locations in the mission circuit. If traveling by plane, I would prefer to have someone pick me up and drop me off at the airport. But a rental car is an option if necessary.) For compensation: I will need reimbursement for travel expenses and ask for a free will offering.

    • Would you like me to sign books at the event? (We only accept cash and checks. Checks are made out to Martinians. Another option for payment: A donation on the donate page at the League of St. Martin for the total book sales.)

      • Available Books: (Please indicate desired quantities.)

      • The Secret of the Holy Face (Comes in cases of 24.)

      • Remedy (If I have room, I can bring some.)

      • Walking the Road to God (If I have room, I can bring some.)
